We're feeling the pinch on our budget, and BeyondTrust PRA is one of those expenses that's tough to defend when leadership starts questioning things. The auditing and session recording aspects are solid for maintaining HIPAA compliance, which is why we've stuck with it, but the price is a bit much, and the user interface isn't the greatest. I'm starting to explore alternatives, and Splashtop comes up a lot, especially since it's cheaper, but I'm uncertain if it can handle third-party vendor access properly with the right session controls and a reliable audit trail. RustDesk seems intriguing if you're fine with self-hosting, but that brings its own set of challenges. Has anyone here made the leap from PRA to another option in a compliance-heavy setting without facing issues during audits?

Also, check out idemeum.com. They offer EPM, PAM, allowlisting, and more at a much more affordable price.
We still use PRA for our contractors, but we recently switched to ManageEngine Endpoint Central since we already have Service Desk. I think we ended up saving around $20,000, give or take. It was definitely a significant difference in pricing.
BeyondTrust is just too pricey. We opted for AutoElevate, and it's been really solid for us, especially if you configure it correctly. Definitely worth considering.
Thanks for the recommendation! If anyone's interested, AutoElevate is now part of CyberFOX.com. Just a reminder that you should really phase out Admin accounts for good.

That’s good to know! How’s the audit trail and session logging working for you in terms of compliance?
