I've been using ChatGPT for some fun side projects like analyzing baseball stats and discussing trading strategies. It's been really helpful for digging deeper into analytics that I don't have time for myself. However, recently I've noticed that it's been giving me some frustratingly inaccurate information. For example, just yesterday, it told me the Yankees were set to beat the Rangers because Martin Perez was looking shaky on the mound—problem is, he hasn't pitched for them in years! And during the NBA season, it seemed unaware of Anthony Davis's trade situation, even though it acknowledged he was injured. On another occasion, it suggested Bitcoin was approximately $67K, even after I showed it the actual price. It's becoming hard to trust its insights, and I'm wondering if this is due to my laptop's processing power or if I'm expecting too much from the AI. Has anyone else experienced similar issues, or any suggestions on how to get more reliable outputs?

You’re definitely not alone! I've seen a drop in quality too, especially over the last few days. I was looking for ways to make a quick 30 bucks, and it suggested I withdraw money I didn't even have! It's like it doesn't even read the prompts properly anymore. I switched to another tool for some writing help and it worked perfect on the first try.
It’s definitely not that it’s gotten worse, it’s just that you're asking questions that require real-time updates. It won’t give you fake responses just to make you feel better about its capabilities.
I think part of it is just that you’re asking for info that’s beyond its training data. If events have occurred after its last update, it won't know unless you cue it to check for the latest news. That could explain the confusion about trades and injuries.
I had a weird experience too—it started referencing a completely different conversation of mine that's already been deleted! I was like, can you not keep track of what we’re discussing right now? It apologized but then it just acted as if we were back in that other chat. Strange behavior, for sure.
Totally feel you on this! I've noticed the same thing lately too. Like, just the other day, I asked it for some simple software business ideas, and it said "Uber, but for horses"—which was honestly hilarious but also kinda concerning. It seems like the quality shifts can be really drastic sometimes, especially when the bot's busy. Maybe the peak usage times are affecting how well it performs?
Haha, that is so funny! But yeah, I get the concern—sometimes it feels like it just zones out.
That’s a great way to put it. It’s like expecting a statue to talk back with current news!
