Hey everyone! I'm a filmmaker and recently got some MP4 files back from my cinematographer. It seems like half of them work fine, but the other half just won't open. I've tried both QuickTime and VLC on my Mac, but no luck. The last time this happened, my cinematographer also couldn't open them on his end. I'm looking for any advice or solutions that you might have. Thanks a lot!

You might want to try using Handbrake. I've heard it's quite helpful for converting and fixing video files. Just download it and see if it helps with your MP4s!
If neither VLC nor QuickTime can open them and your cinematographer faces the same issue, I'm worried there might be file corruption. It could be linked to the camera setup. Have you asked him if he experienced any issues while recording? That might give you clues on how to fix it!
If they’re corrupted, do you think it could be a camera issue? Would any fixes work for him?

I’ll check it out, thanks for the suggestion!
