I'm having a tough time signing up for an Amazon Web Services account because I can't get past the phone verification step. Every time I input my number and click 'Send SMS', I get an error message. I've tried several browsers including Chrome and Firefox, I've cleared my cache and cookies, and even switched my internet connection, but nothing works. I'm using a German phone number and I've confirmed that I'm entering it correctly without repeating the country code. Has anyone else faced this issue recently? Is there a workaround, or should I just reach out to AWS Support for help? I even attached a screenshot for reference!

Hey there! Sorry to hear you're having this annoying issue. One thing you might want to check is if there are any restrictions on your phone number, like if it's a VOIP number, which AWS doesn’t accept. Also, you might want to try asking AWS support directly if you haven't already. Sometimes they can provide insights that aren’t in the general help articles.
I had a similar problem when I signed up! What worked for me was to use a different phone number, so maybe try that if you can. Also, ensure your phone allows messages from international numbers since AWS sends a verification code. If you still have no luck, AWS Support can definitely help you get it sorted.
