Help! Can’t Connect My HP Printer to the Internet

I've got an HP Deskjet 2500 that I've had for a few months, but I can't seem to get it connected to the internet. It works fine as a copier, but that's about it. I've tried plugging it into an ethernet cable and going through the connection wizard, but I've attempted to connect it using four different devices with no luck. I'm really at my wit's end here and don't know what else to try!

Are you sure your printer is actually a Deskjet 2500? I think that model number might be part of a bigger series. Have you looked at the manual? Also, trying to connect using WPS could make things easier.

Could you provide a bit more detail on what's going wrong? When you say it won't connect, what exactly does that mean? Are you trying to connect it to a specific type of network?

I think they might be at their limit here, but checking the manual could really help. It often has the specific steps you need.

Just a heads up, the Deskjet 2500 is pretty old—released in 1998! I remember having issues with drivers from that time not being supported on newer Windows versions. Just wondering if you might be dealing with that issue.

Have you tried setting it up with the HP Smart software? Sometimes these printers only show up as scanners if they're added through the usual devices and printers route in Windows.
