I'm building a new PC and primarily focused on gaming, but I also dabble in video editing for my YouTube channel. I'm stuck between the AMD Ryzen 9 9950X and the AMD Ryzen 7 9800X3D. Can anyone provide some advice on which one I should choose?

For a build that’s primarily gaming-oriented, the 9800X3D is your best bet. However, don’t overlook the 9900X. It should be adequate unless you're pairing it with a super high-end graphics card and pushing for extreme settings at high resolutions.

Honestly, you can't go wrong with either the 9900X3D or the 9950X3D if you're looking for a balance of gaming and productivity. They both offer great performance and should handle anything you throw at them. The 9900X3D is probably the sweet spot for multitasking without breaking the bank!

Looks like the 9900X3D is a better option for me!

If video editing is just a hobby and gaming is your main focus, the Ryzen 7 9800X3D should serve you well. It's still an 8-core processor and should handle your gaming needs nicely. You might also consider the 9900X3D, which has 12 cores and 24 threads. It’s great for both gaming and productivity, thanks to its V-cache technology. But if the YouTube channel is generating some income, the Ryzen 9 9950X could be worth the investment!

Thank you very much! This was very clear, video editing is just a hobby, so I'll go for the 9800X3D!
