I recently got kicked off the domain of a Lenovo ThinkPad that was rented from my old school. I paid the fee to keep the laptop but didn't anticipate getting locked out. Now, I can't log in, and I have around 175 songs that I downloaded directly to the laptop's downloads folder. Since I can't access the computer, I'm unable to transfer these files to my phone via USB like usual. They aren't saved on the cloud or in OneDrive. Is there any way to get my music back without having to re-download all of them after resetting the laptop?

Have you attempted to log in while not connected to the internet? Sometimes that can help bypass certain restrictions.
If your files aren’t encrypted, you can try booting from a live Linux ISO. Most Linux distributions can read NTFS, so you might access your files that way. If you do find it encrypted, you might have to ask your school for the key, but don't get your hopes up. You might also consider reaching out to IT for assistance, although that could be a hassle.
Just a heads-up, if your drive is BitLocker encrypted, you might be out of luck. The encryption key ties to your old login credentials, and without them, those files are most likely gone. And just curious, why didn’t you back them up before this happened?
I reached out to them earlier, and they didn't want to help much since I'm no longer a student. Totally understandable but kinda frustrating.
