Help! I Accidentally Deleted My Flatpak Objects Folder, What Now?

I made a mistake while trying to free up some space on my Ubuntu Debian system and accidentally deleted the 'objects' folder from my Flatpak installation. Now, whenever I try to do anything with Flatpak, I get an error saying that the repository can't be opened because the folder is missing. I've tried using the repair command and other troubleshooting steps, but nothing worked. I'm wondering if there's a way to recover that folder or if I just have to reinstall all my Flatpak apps manually. Any advice would be appreciated!

If you encounter the same error when trying to reinstall your apps, you can try creating a new folder named 'objects' in the Flatpak repository directory. Some users found that it allowed them to bypass the error. Just make sure it’s in the right path!

Thanks for the tips, everyone! Just updated the folder name manually, and it worked like a charm. Appreciate the help!

It sounds like a common mistake! It's good to mention your distro and any error messages when asking for help—it really helps others assist you faster. Also, consider a more descriptive title next time; it can help others find your question more easily!

Yes, you will need to reinstall all your Flatpak apps and runtimes since deleting the 'objects' folder removes necessary components for them to run. Just keep in mind, the 'objects' directory itself doesn't actually take up extra space beyond the apps and runtimes, so deleting it won't save you much in terms of storage.
