I recently tried to transfer my data from my iPhone 8 Plus to my new iPhone 17 using a guide from Verizon. During the process, I needed to disable Find My iPhone, but I accidentally hit 'erase' and wiped my entire old phone. I've heard that once it's erased, there's usually no way to recover the data, but I'm hoping someone might have a solution. I've had this phone for 8 years, and it's like a big part of my life is lost. I didn't back up everything to the cloud because I maxed out my storage a while ago. A small portion of my data transferred, but it's not enough. I'm also wondering if my notes that were saved under Gmail or Yahoo could somehow be recovered. Anyone have any advice or tips? I'm really stressed about losing important memories and information.

I totally get your frustration. It's really easy to accidentally hit the wrong button in those stressful moments. If you still haven’t checked your Google or Yahoo settings, go through them carefully—there might be a hidden backup there!
Make sure you're logged into the same Google and Yahoo accounts on your new iPhone; sometimes notes can be stored differently. You may not find them in Google Keep, so linking your accounts on the new device could help you locate your notes.
Unfortunately, if there's no backup, it’s tough. Once you erase an iPhone, the data is pretty much gone because it’s encrypted, and a factory reset removes the encryption key, too. Just double-check your Google and Yahoo accounts for any backed-up notes, but don’t get your hopes up about recovering the phone data itself.
