Help! I Got Charged for a Free Trial – What Should I Do?

I recently tried to use a free 7-day trial for an Adobe product, but when I attempted to download it, Apple automatically charged my prepaid card $14.99, which had no funds at the time. I quickly cancelled the subscription, but when I called Apple for help the next day, they told me I'd need to pay that amount upfront and then request a refund. The representative mentioned that since I had an older Adobe subscription, I wasn't eligible for the free trial on a different product. I feel frustrated because I was led to believe I'd get a free trial, and now I can't download or update any apps until this is resolved. I want to know if I should just pay the $15 and hope for a refund, or stand my ground? I'm also eager to get the latest Call of Duty updates, but I don't want to feel like I'm being scammed. Any suggestions on how to fix this without paying the $14.99?

You write a lot about your experience, but at the end of the day, you need to accept some responsibility here. Think of it as $15 for a valuable lesson in reading terms! Learn from it and move on.

Sounds like you might have missed the fine print when you started the trial. Usually, if you’re not eligible, they’ll let you know at the moment of sign-up. It might be best to pay the $15, request the refund, and let it be a lesson learned about keeping tabs on those terms. You're clearly feeling the pinch! Just remember, if you really want to update your apps and play that game, sometimes you gotta bite the bullet.

I get it, it feels unfair! But, think about how much you want that new game. It might be worth it in the end.

Totally agree, it’s a bummer but learning from it is key. Next time, double-check everything!

Honestly, it sounds frustrating! But Apple's already outlined a way to solve it. If you’re unable to download anything, that’s gotta be more frustrating than losing a quick $15, right? Try to resolve it so you can get back to your apps.

Exactly! It’s just 15 bucks in the grand scheme of things. Better to have the access back!

It’s definitely rough, but if you want your updates, it’s probably best to just get it done.

Let’s be real, it does kind of sound like you were caught in an unfortunate situation. You may want to own it a bit and chalk it up to a $15 lesson learned. Gotta keep an eye on those hip trends in subscription services!
