Help! I Think I Bricked My Laptop After Disabling the GPU

So, I've got a situation with my laptop. The LCD screen is broken, and I've been using an external monitor by assigning the second NVIDIA GPU to it while letting the broken screen manage the Intel graphics. I was trying to fix some lag problems when I made the mistake of disabling the NVIDIA GPU in the device manager. Now, my external monitor is showing 'no signal.' I've tried everything from restarting to switching HDMI connections, even connecting it to my TV, but nothing seems to work. The NVIDIA GPU is listed as the second option in the display adapters. If anyone has some advice or a solution, I'd really appreciate it!

It sounds like you've run into a tricky issue. Since the configuration is specific to your Windows setup, one option could be to reflash your OS with something like Linux Mint or reinstall Windows, but remember that this will wipe all your data.

Thanks for the suggestion! I'm not excited about losing my data, though; any safer alternatives?

You could also try disconnecting the ribbon cable from the internal screen. Sometimes that helps the system refocus on the external monitor and the Intel iGPU.

Is there any chance you can boot into safe mode? That could help you revert some of the changes.

I can't see anything on the screen, so I'm not sure if that's possible.
