Help! I’m Experiencing Repeated Hacks on My Work Laptop—What Should I Do?

I'm currently a supervisor at a major internet company, and I faced a significant issue last year when my work laptop was hacked. I took it to our local IT department four times, but all they did was wipe my laptop and personal devices. This led me to take seven months off work. Now that I've been back for about six months, I'm starting to suspect that the hacking is happening again. I'm looking for advice on how to handle this situation and what steps I should take moving forward, especially since I'm convinced this might be an inside job.

It sounds like a frustrating situation. Make sure to document everything that’s happening to your laptop, like files being downloaded without your consent and any issues with your email. Your company’s IT should be the first point of contact for support, but it might be worth looking into having an outside expert assess your laptop if they continue to brush off your concerns. You mentioned you thought it could be an inside job—if that's the case, consider discussing your worries with a trusted manager or HR.

That’s a great idea! Keeping a detailed log will definitely help. If the internal IT isn’t responsive, you might need to escalate this to higher management.
