I'm really in a tough spot right now. I've forgotten my Apple ID password and, to make matters worse, I don't have access to the phone number linked to my account. I've tried to use the standard recovery options, but they require that old number to verify my identity, which I'm unable to do. I'm starting to lose access to important features such as texting, downloading apps, and using the ones I already have. Here are the details:
- Apple ID email: [email protected]
- Problem: locked out due to forgotten password and lack of access to the associated phone number.
- Recovery attempts: Tried resetting my password at iforgot.apple.com, but can't verify without the trusted number.
- Devices tied to the account: My iPhone XR and my old iPhone 13 Pro Max (which has the phone number I no longer have).
I'm ready to provide any info needed to prove I'm the rightful owner of my Apple ID. Can anyone please guide me on how to regain access quickly?

It sounds like you've got the right idea with trying account recovery! Make sure you enter your old number – even if you don't have access, you'll want to indicate that you know it. When asked for the code sent to that number, select the option that says you didn't get it; this should allow you to continue verification with your current number.
Also, just a tip: when going through the recovery steps, keep an eye out for small blue text at the bottom of the screen for additional options you might have missed. Just be ready for a bit of a wait since account recovery usually takes 24-72 hours for the first phase. You'll get an email update after that. Good luck!
I get how frustrating that must be! If you're still logged into your Apple ID on your iPhone, go to Settings and try to add a new email or phone number there. Sometimes, you might still be able to access certain settings from a logged-in device. Not sure if it'll work since you're locked out, but it's worth a shot!
That's super helpful advice! I didn't know about the blue text options—definitely going to check for that if I ever face a similar issue.
