I'm really struggling to get three printers—Canon TR4520, Brother MFW-J985XL, and Epson XP-7100—set up using CUPS on my KaOS system. Every time I try to find and add the printer using the Driverless Driver, I run into errors, and it seems like the PPA being generated is empty. I've heard that some distributions might be phasing out support for certain printers, which could be causing this issue.
I've searched for any relevant documentation and PPAs but only came across RPM and Deb files, and I'm not sure how to handle those as I can't find clear instructions. While Debian-based distros seem to have no trouble out of the box, I'm having a tough time with Arch-based systems.
What's the current situation if a particular distro stops supporting a printer in CUPS? Do I really need to switch printers if mine gets retired? I'm genuinely concerned about the long-term implications. If anyone has insights on how to set up these printers on KaOS, or has thoughts on printer support for various distros, I would appreciate your input!

If your printers work with CUPS, they should be compatible with any system. Have you tried disconnecting other printers on the network when setting them up? It might sound simple, but it can help isolate the issue.

I'm using Kubuntu and Linux Mint, and they easily set up each printer. With KaOS, I see the printer and try to select the model, but it crashes. I don’t think it's a network problem since they work fine on other OS.
