Hey everyone! I'm graduating high school soon and I need to buy a computer for college, especially since I won't be using my Chromebook anymore (thank goodness!). I'm looking for a laptop that can run video games decently, enough to play multiplayer games with good FPS, but I don't want it to look like a gaming laptop since my parents would be upset about that. My budget is under $1,000, but I'm open to suggestions up to $1,500 since I'm not really sure how much laptops typically cost. Just so you know, I'll be studying Pre-Med. Thanks in advance for any recommendations! 🙂

You might want to check out eBay and Amazon, or even local options like Facebook Marketplace. You should find plenty of decent laptops within your budget! Look for something with a modern graphics card (at least 4GB of video memory), SSD storage, and ideally, 16GB of RAM. Generally, buying a prebuilt laptop is going to be cheaper than building one yourself. Good luck with your search!
It really depends on your major! Since you're going into Pre-Med, you'll likely need something that can handle basic tasks and maybe some specialized software. Just make sure whatever you get has good enough specs to handle what you’ll need, especially if you might have to run more demanding programs down the line.
