Hey everyone! I'm new to the forum and need some advice on upgrading my CPU. I currently have an AMD Ryzen 5 3600X on an Asus ROG STRIX X570-F motherboard. My setup includes an Asus RTX 3050 Dual OC V2 GPU with 8GB of VRAM, and I'm running 32GB of Corsair Vengeance RGB Pro RAM at 3200MHz.
I'm still using the stock cooler and I'm thinking about getting a be quiet! Dark Rock Pro 5 cooler along with some Corsair XTM70 thermal paste. As for my use, I do a fair bit of gaming (around 60% of the time) with titles like GTA V, World Of Warships, and a lot of Minecraft. The other 40% is for work-related tasks, including using CAD software and running several virtual machines.
Now, I'm considering upgrading to either a Ryzen 7 5700X3D, which costs €259, or a Ryzen 7 5800X for €164. I know the 5700X3D is better for gaming, but is it worth the extra €95 in my scenario, or should I just stick with the 5800X instead? I'd love to hear your thoughts!

For gaming, definitely go with the 5700X3D; it performs really well. For your work stuff, the 5800X does have a slight edge, but it’s not a huge difference. Given your gaming focus, I’d say the 5700X3D is the better choice for you.
Also, if you're open to it, considering a 5900X could be a good idea, depending on how much you value the performance in productivity versus gaming!
Thanks for the suggestion! I’ll keep the 5900X in mind and check out the benchmarks.
