Hey everyone! I'm new to coding and absolutely loving the journey, but I'm feeling a bit overwhelmed with all the different paths available. From web development to data science, app development, AI/ML, DevOps, and cybersecurity, I honestly don't know which field would be the best fit for me. I would really appreciate insights from those of you who have experience:

- How did you decide which tech field to focus on?
- What key factors should I think about when making this choice?
- Are there any beginner-friendly fields that also offer solid long-term opportunities?

Thanks for any advice or personal stories you can share!

Honestly, go with what you’re passionate about! Coding requires a lot of concentration, and having passion for what you do really helps. When you’re unsure, it might be worth checking out job salaries and availability in the field you’re considering to guide your choice as well.

Totally agree! But I’d also suggest thinking about the tasks you enjoy the least. Maybe instead of just asking what you love, consider what challenges you wouldn’t mind facing repeatedly—finding those tougher problems you can stick with might really help you figure it out.

Exactly! I started with what I was most excited about, then shifted into what pays better once I graduated.

For me, I knew I wanted to get into software development but skipped web dev. I fell in love with C++ during college and landed a job right after graduating. It’ll be interesting to see if I’d make the same choices today, though!

What kind of job did you get after college?

I think it's too early to stress about the specifics. Focus on learning coding for now! Once you get a solid foundation, and maybe a CS degree, you can take your time exploring the options.
