I'm in the process of building a PC and looking for guidance on which graphics card to get, ideally sticking to around $300. Right now, I'm considering the MSI GeForce RTX 3060 Ventus 2X 12G at $299 and the MSI SHADOW 2X OC GeForce RTX 5060 8 GB, also priced at $299. I'm uncertain whether an older model with more VRAM is better than a newer one. I'd appreciate any recommendations on which card to choose or if there's a better option in the same price range!

If you’re considering the RTX options, keep in mind that the RTX 5060 is indeed faster than the 3060 12GB in terms of performance, even though it has less VRAM. It's great for gaming, but if VRAM is a concern, you might want to factor that in!

True, but watch out for titles that require more VRAM; it might be a problem down the line.

I'd recommend the $250 9060 XT instead of the two cards you're looking at. If you're aiming for longevity, definitely opt for the 16GB version, even if it’s a bit pricier at $370. It’ll give you much better performance in the long run!

Absolutely, go for the 9060 XT 16GB, you won't regret it!

If you choose the 9060 XT 16GB, just make sure it pairs well with your Ryzen 5 7600X CPU. You might need to consider other CPUs if you plan to push those graphics!

Honestly, I’d say try to stretch your budget a bit if you can. Getting either the 9060 XT 16GB or a 5060 Ti 16GB would be way better for your setup. The newer 8GB cards just don’t offer good value for money considering how quickly game requirements change.
