Hey everyone! I'm a complete beginner tackling my first PC build, and I'm feeling overwhelmed picking a motherboard. My budget is around 600€ (I'm in Italy), and I'm planning to use a Ryzen 5 5600 along with an RX 6600. I usually play lighter games at 1080p, so I want something that will last for a few years.
Initially, I was considering the Asus Prime B450M-A II since it's priced at 70€. I've heard mixed reviews though. Some folks say it's fine to stick with the B450 for a while and upgrade to AM5 later when prices drop. But then I hear warnings that the B450 might not support future CPUs like the Ryzen 7 5700X3D, which leaves me conflicted. Should I save money and go with the B450 for now, or invest a bit more in a B550 to make future upgrades smoother? Also, if I decide to stick with the B450, can anyone suggest good options around 70€? And what about recommendations for B550 models around 100€? Thanks a ton!

I just want to say that I’ve used a B450 board with a Ryzen 9 5950X and it worked great for me! You should be perfectly fine with a B450 for gaming like you're planning. As long as you don't mind the idea of possibly upgrading later, it would be a solid choice now.
That's interesting! Which B450 board did you use?
