I'm looking to upgrade my very old PC, which is over 10 years old, and I'm feeling a bit lost navigating the current component landscape. My main goals are to build a PC that can handle gaming (specifically single-player games and Counter-Strike 2) at 1080p for a few years and to ensure it runs reasonably quietly when I'm not gaming, like during normal office tasks or browsing. Here's my current component list:
- **CPU**: AMD Ryzen 9800x3D
- **Motherboard**: MSI MAG B650 TOMAHAWK WIFI
- **RAM**: Corsair 32GB KIT DDR5 6000MHz CL36
- **PSU**: Corsair RM850x ATX 3.1
- **SSD**: Samsung 990 EVO Plus 1TB
- **CPU fan**: Noctua NH-D15
- **Case**: Fractal Design North
- **Monitor**: 25" Samsung Odyssey G40B
- **GPU**: ASRock Radeon RX 6700 XT Challenger Pro OC 12GB (already purchased second-hand last year)
I have a few questions:
1) Will all these parts fit together?
2) Is my power supply adequate if I want to upgrade my GPU in about 3-4 years?
3) Do I really need a dedicated CPU fan, or can I rely on the stock cooling?
4) Should I save some money on the case since I don't care about how it looks, as it will sit on the floor?
5) Is a 25-inch monitor suitable, given that I currently use a 24-inch, or is that size a problem?
6) Are there any components I should consider downgrading or upgrading?

I'd recommend checking the prices of components since they can vary a lot. The MSI MAG B650 TOMAHAWK is great, but you could get a B850 motherboard with PCIe 5 for a similar price. As for the RAM, Corsair tends to be on the pricey side. There are brands like Crucial that might save you a few bucks without sacrificing quality.
When it comes to SSDs, the Samsung 990 EVO is good, but you can probably find something cheaper that performs just as well. And about your questions, it looks like everything should fit just fine, just double-check the dimensions for the GPU and case.
If you're set on a cooler, because the 9800X3D doesn’t come with one, just find something reliable that fits without making too much noise!
Your component list looks solid! Just a heads-up though, considering the CPU choice, if you’re not going to push your PC too hard, you might want to think about going with the Ryzen 7800X3D instead. It offers similar performance but often at a lower price.
Regarding your PSU, it should be enough for now, but if you're planning a GPU upgrade later, make sure you check the wattage requirements of potential future cards. As for the CPU cooler, the 9800X3D doesn't come with a stock fan, so you'll definitely need one. The Noctua is a great choice for a quiet operation!
Finally, about the case, if it’s just going on the floor and you’re not fussed about aesthetics, feel free to opt for a cheaper option that still has good airflow. And yes, 25 inches should be perfectly fine for gaming and office work!
Yeah, some CPUs are really pricey for what's available these days. Just look for something that fits your gaming needs without overspending!

I appreciate the advice! I'll definitely compare prices on different brands to find the best deals. Thanks!
