We're rolling out Microsoft Teams in our organization, but some users are experiencing a frustrating issue where their devices, like microphones and cameras, aren't being detected. This problem is affecting both remote and in-office users, despite everyone running the latest version of Teams. We've tried reinstalling the app, but sometimes that works and sometimes it doesn't. We've checked privacy settings and performed all the basic troubleshooting steps we could find online. The devices themselves work fine with other applications, and Teams doesn't recognize them, even when we're sure they aren't being used by anything else. Any insights or suggestions would be greatly appreciated!

We had a similar issue a while back, and it turned out to be related to privacy settings kicking in unexpectedly. There used to be a PowerShell command to reset some services or permissions, but I can’t recall which one. I’ll dig through my notes to see if I can find it. It might help!
Have you checked the camera settings in Windows? Go to 'Bluetooth & devices', then 'Cameras'. Click on your camera, then under 'Advanced camera options', turn on 'Allow multiple apps to use camera at the same time'. It's strange, but it might be necessary even if Teams is the only one accessing it. I ended up sending an email to our users to enable that option because I couldn’t find a way to automate it with GPO.
Thanks for the tip! I'll let a user know to try that and I'll report back.
That’s interesting, but it seems odd that both the camera and headset would have issues every time, not just one or the other.
I’ve noticed that both Teams and Discord can be pretty inconsistent with device detection. It's weird! Also, it's super annoying how Windows keeps adding monitors as audio devices after graphic driver updates. I have to manually remove them all the time whenever I update my drivers.

Was it something related to the 'Microsoft Frame Server Service'? I found that during my research but haven’t tried it yet.
