Help! My 64GB SanDisk SD Card Is Missing All Its Folders After Lending It Out

I borrowed my 64GB SanDisk SD card to someone for a video presentation. I had transferred a 16GB video onto the card so they could use it, as their flash drive was too small. They successfully flashed the video and returned the card to me. However, when I checked it, all I saw was 'USB DRIVE E' with no folders at all. I know the card has data on it since the properties show it's occupying space, but I can't find any of my pictures or folders. I used the SD card primarily for my digital camera, so I really want to recover my files. What could have happened, and how can I fix it?

It sounds like there may have been an improper ejection, which can happen if the card wasn’t safely removed from the computer. You might want to try using recovery software like R-Studio or UFS Explorer. As long as your data hasn’t been overwritten, these tools can help recover your lost files.

Running a command like 'chkdsk /f' might not be the best advice for flash media. It can sometimes cause more issues than it solves. Your best bet is to use dedicated recovery software instead.
