A couple of weeks ago, I upgraded my power supply and installed a new RX 9070 XT graphics card. Everything was running fine until this week when I tried to play Kingdom Come: Deliverance, and my PC shut down due to CPU overheating. Last night, I applied new thermal paste, and I had a better performance while playing Borderlands 3 with no frame dips. However, today while playing Middle Earth: Shadow of Mordor, my CPU temps shot up to around 90°C! What could be causing this?

It's possible that the thermal paste you used is of low quality. You mentioned it cost around 7 euros, but you might want to check reviews more closely to see if others had similar issues with it.
What kind of cooler are you using? The stock cooler that comes with Ryzen CPUs isn't always the best, especially for gaming.
Ah, yeah, I should have mentioned my specs! I'm using a Ryzen 5 3600 with the stock cooler.
Make sure to check your CPU cooler and fan for any issues. If everything seems to be working, it's worth a closer look. Sometimes the cooler might not be seated properly or it could be clogged with dust.
What do you mean by checking? My fan is spinning fine.
Consider posting a picture of your entire build. If your case doesn’t have good airflow, those high-demand games might be pushing your CPU too hard, especially if throttling was an issue before you upgraded.
Why did you decide to replace the thermal paste in the first place? Just curious—did you apply it and mess with the cooler multiple times or perhaps leave the plastic cover on a new cooler?

I know, right? It has 4.7 stars on Amazon and tons of reviews though!
