I'm transitioning to Linux Mint on my main computer, similar to what I did with my laptop. However, I hit a roadblock when I need to access the BIOS; both my mouse and keyboard stop responding, and I can't navigate at all. This issue didn't occur with my laptop. I searched for solutions, but while in a frustrated state, I asked ChatGPT for help and got a suggestion to open up my prebuilt PC and tamper with the hardware, which I'm not comfortable doing. Has anyone encountered this issue? How did you resolve it?

I recommend checking out some installation tips that might help you with your transition to Linux Mint. You could also search for common BIOS issues related to USB ports. And just a friendly reminder: always use an Ethernet cable for installations, and remember to remove the boot media when you're done!
You're smart to be cautious about opening your PC! A couple of questions: what's the make of your motherboard? And are your mouse and keyboard connected via USB? That could be significant.
I can't directly help, but I'm curious about the advice you got from ChatGPT. How exactly was taking apart your PC supposed to solve a BIOS issue? It seems odd since you managed to get into BIOS before, which means it was recognizing your keyboard. It's a bit puzzling!
Yeah, ChatGPT suggested that I might need to remove a component to "reset" my BIOS settings, which was confusing since it had previously mentioned that BIOS might not detect USB ports by default.

I found that my motherboard is a Micro-Star International B560M-A PRO (MS-7D20). Both my mouse and keyboard are USB, and I've tried different ports in both the front and back.
