I just built a new PC a few hours ago and everything was going smoothly until during the Windows installation, the PC suddenly turned off and won't boot back up. There are no strange smells or smoke, and I've even swapped out the PSU, but it still won't turn on. The only thing I changed was turning on an electric heater which might have caused an energy spike to the extension cord I'm using. Did my new motherboard just die, or is there something else I can check? The PSU has features like OVP, UVP, SCP, and OPP.

It sounds like you might have tripped a breaker. Have you checked your electrical box? Sometimes, appliances like heaters can draw a lot of power and cause issues.

I checked and even switched outlets, and confirmed there's power. It’s super frustrating since everything was fine until I tried installing Windows!
