Help! My C drive keeps filling up on my Windows 11 PC – What can I do?

I've got a Dell desktop running Windows 11 and it's set up with two drives: (C:) for the operating system and (D:) for storage. The (C:) drive has only 102 GB of space, while the (D:) drive has 931 GB available. Lately, I keep running out of space on the (C:) drive and I can't understand why. I've moved all my pictures, videos, and documents over to (D:) and even cleared my browsing data. I managed to get 1.2 GB free once, but after just an hour of use, it's back down to 0 bytes available. I do a lot of streaming and I'm wondering if that might be contributing to the issue. Is there any advice on large files generated by streaming, or anything else that could be taking up space? I use OneDrive too and have deleted some apps, including Spotify. I'm really at a loss here!

It sounds like your (C:) drive is just too small for your needs, especially with Windows 11. When you free up space, things like Windows updates can quickly fill it back up. OneDrive may also be keeping local copies of files, which can hog space. I'd recommend moving even more data to (D:) if you can.

Honestly, 102 GB isn't ideal for a boot drive when running Windows 11. You might want to consider combining your (C:) and (D:) drives into one larger partition, or resizing them so (C:) has more space—at least 250 GB is recommended. If you're not sure how to do that, there are tools that can help, but just make sure you back everything up first!

Yeah, the partitioning was how it came. It's been fine until now—I wonder if the hardware is acting up.
