Help! My Chrome is acting weird and typing on its own!

I think I might have been hacked. After leaving my computer idle for a bit, Chrome suddenly opened a new tab and changed itself to the primary browser. It also entered a weird string of numbers in the search bar: 110f0a97-2189-45e4-90e9-37c04234fedd, as if someone copied and pasted it really fast. I immediately disconnected from the internet and ran a malware scan with Windows, but it didn't find anything, even after a full MRT scan. I mainly use my computer for gaming and visit regular sites like YouTube, Netflix, and Gmail. My Windows protection (Antivirus and Firewall) is always on. I'm about to download Malwarebytes and NordVPN for extra security. Has anyone experienced this or knows what could be happening? Thanks!

Whoa, that sounds intense! I've heard of similar issues before. One user said that Malwarebytes found 47 threats in their Chrome folder once they scanned it. It's definitely worth a try! Stay safe out there!

It sounds like you might have some malware. I recommend running a full scan with Malwarebytes and also doing an offline scan with Windows Defender. Since you've seen strange behavior, changing your passwords wouldn't hurt either. Let me know if anything pops up after the scans!
