I'm experiencing frequent internet disconnections on my MSI GF63 THIN 11SC, both when using Ethernet and WiFi. The problem occurs mostly during online gaming or when I engage in activities that put a load on the network. When the disconnection happens, the Ethernet card completely disappears from my device resources, only to reappear as if it's been physically detached and reconnected.
Here's what I've tried so far:
- Updated the Realtek family controller driver, which seemed to work but then the issue returned the next day.
- Tested another computer on the same switch, and it remained online while my computer lost connection.
- Reset the modem.
- Checked all Ethernet cables with a tester, and even redid those I had crimped myself using new connectors.
Any advice on what I can do to fix this? Thanks in advance!

When your Ethernet connection drops and the card disappears, try opening Device Manager and checking under Network adapters. Click on 'View' and then 'Show hidden devices' to see if the Realtek PCIe GbE Family Controller goes missing or comes back. If it does vanish, that might indicate a temporary failure of the network interface card (NIC).
Make sure you’re also checking Task Manager for any specific drops in your Ethernet status. If it goes away, that's a clue!

I just followed your advice, and during the disconnection, I clicked 'Scan for hardware changes' in Device Manager, but the Realtek PCIe card remained listed. However, in Task Manager, the 'Ethernet' option disappears. I can provide screenshots if that helps!
