I just purchased a new CyberPower UPS, which was working fine for three days. Today, there was a power outage and my system turned off. I heard some beeps, then suddenly, a strange noise started, and smoke began to come out of my CPU! I quickly unplugged everything. Afterward, I checked the UPS, and it showed a red overload warning. It's rated for 1100 watts, while my power supply is only 750 watts. Interestingly, a few days ago, my phone charger that was plugged into an extension connected to the same UPS also got damaged. Now, I'm starting to think that the UPS might be the culprit. Any thoughts on what could have caused this?

Yikes! Sounds like your system may have suffered a serious overload. When the UPS showed that overload warning, it probably wasn't able to handle the load and something in your CPU or power supply might have failed. It’s common for power supplies to fail and emit smoke when they’re overworked. You might need to look into a replacement. Be careful!
This definitely sounds like a serious issue. Make sure to check the connections and see if any components look burned or damaged. And it might be worth testing the UPS with another system, just to verify if it’s causing problems. Better safe than sorry!
What’s the best way to test a UPS to ensure it’s working?
Wow, the magical smoke! It usually means something fried. I’d definitely recommend checking all your components, especially the power supply. Sometimes they can fail spectacularly when overloaded. As for the UPS, it might be faulty or not suited for the load you're putting on it.
Can you explain what signs to look for in a damaged power supply?
