I'm currently using a new setup with an Intel Core i7-14700K, ASUS Prime Z790 WiFi 7 motherboard, and 32GB of RAM in an Air 5400 case. Most of my system's temperatures are fine, but my CPU is running hot, frequently hitting 100°C and thermal throttling. I've disabled the E-cores, and I'm considering returning the CPU in hopes of a better unit. I'm also curious about other users' temperatures under load since I'm thinking about switching to a Ryzen 9 9850X3D if I can't solve this heating issue. Additionally, I haven't been able to flash the BIOS because my board isn't recognizing the update file—I've already reached out to ASUS for help, but no luck yet.

That sounds really frustrating! If you're already seeing such high temps with light usage, your AIO cooler might not be functioning as it should. It’s good that you’re switching to a 360mm AIO; that should provide better cooling.
As for the BIOS issue, can you confirm you're using the correct file for your motherboard model? Sometimes, the file formats can be tricky; the wrong one keeps popping up. In the meantime, keep an eye on thermal paste application and mounting pressure. If the contact isn’t right, that can lead to big heat issues as well.
When you're hitting those CPU temps, what tasks are you running? Are you doing any extreme stress testing? Also, make sure that your AIO pump is plugged into the right header and is actually working—double-check the BIOS to see if it’s detected and has an RPM reading. If you can't hear the pump running, that's a red flag!
Another thing to check: is your radiator mounted higher than the pump? If it's top-mounted, that could be an issue. Definitely try to update your BIOS to the latest version. Set the performance settings to Intel default settings, and take a look at the mounting of your AIO cooler. If the thermal paste isn’t applied correctly, or if there's any plastic left on the pump, that could lead to overheating.
If all else fails and you're still seeing those high temperatures during normal use (not just stress tests), it might be a mounting issue with the AIO itself.
