I recently replaced my CPU with an AMD Ryzen 5 5600XT, but now my PC won't display anything on the monitor when I power it on. The power button doesn't seem to work to turn it off either, and the motherboard light is on without flickering. My old CPU, the AMD Ryzen 5 2600, works fine, and I've checked that my BIOS is up to date. The manufacturer's site confirms that my motherboard supports the new CPU. Could it be that my new CPU is faulty, or is there something else I should check? Here are my specs: Motherboard: Gigabyte B450M DS3H v1, BIOS version: F67 (updated on Oct 28, 2025).

First thing to check is whether all your power connectors are seated properly. That's usually where the problem lies. Also, see if there are any beeps or lights from the motherboard when you try to boot, as they can give you clues about what's going wrong.
Just because the BIOS is updated doesn’t mean it’s the right version for your CPU. Each BIOS version supports different generations of Ryzen CPUs, so it’s possible the new one needs a different update. You might want to look into that compatibility further.
I installed the newest version thinking it would be enough, but I need to confirm its compatibility with the 5000 series. I’ll also test my brother's 5500 CPU in case it helps.
Good idea! Testing with another CPU can help pinpoint the problem. Just be sure to check that your current BIOS supports your new CPU.
Have you tried clearing the CMOS? Sometimes resetting can help resolve issues after a CPU swap. Here’s a guide on how to do it: [LINK].
Thanks for the tip! I might give that a shot, but I thought the motherboard usually handles that automatically when changing CPUs.
That could be the case, but it's worth trying just to rule it out!

I double-checked, and all power connectors are in correctly. No strange beeps or lights, either.
