Hey everyone,
I recently upgraded to Windows 11 and I'm facing an issue with a drive that I've had for a couple of years. I assigned it the letter X and mostly used it for storage and a few programs. The problem is, now it's disappeared completely — I can't see it in disk management or even in the BIOS.
I'm not entirely sure if it was gone before the update, but I haven't needed to access it in a while. When I try to open any software that relies on that drive, I get an error saying "The drive or network connection that the shortcut refers to is unavailable."
Here are my specs for reference:
* OS: Windows 11 24H2
* Motherboard: ASUS Z590-P
* CPU: Intel I7-10700K 3.80GHz
* RAM: 32GB Corsair Vengeance Pro 3200mhz
* GPU: Asus NVIDIA RTX 3090 OC
* Storage: 1TB NVME, two 4TB HDDs, and an external 4TB NVME
* **Missing drive: Corsair MP600GS 1TB**
I remember having issues detecting the NVME drive during the first installation, but after some swapping it worked fine. Everything's updated — drivers and BIOS — and I've never had issues like this before. Any advice?

Sounds like it's a hardware issue if the drive isn't showing up anywhere. I'd recommend reseating the drive if you can, or trying it in a different PC if you have access to one. Sometimes, simply swapping where it's plugged in can help. Good luck!
Have you tried connecting it via an external enclosure? That might help you see if the drive is still functioning. If it's not showing up on another device, it could be time to consider a replacement.
That's a great idea! I have an external enclosure I can use. I'll give that a shot and see if it recognizes the drive.
Before going too far, check if the drive is still physically connected properly. Sometimes the simplest fixes can save you a lot of hassle!
Thanks for the advice! I can't switch slots due to space constraints, but I’ll look into using a different enclosure to test it.
