Hey everyone! I'm reaching out because I'm really struggling with my laptop and I just can't figure out why my games keep crashing. I've got an Acer PHN16-71 laptop equipped with an RTX 4070 Mobile, 32GB of RAM, and an i7 13700HX, running on Windows 11 with the performance mode enabled and Optimus mode activated. Over the past 2-3 weeks, I've encountered these random crashes while playing several different games, including Minecraft, World of Tanks Blitz, GTA V Enhanced, Geometry Dash, and more.
Initially, it started with Minecraft crashing unexpectedly, and then it got worse in *World of Tanks Blitz* with the error "rendering error 0x00000007: graphics driver error." I've done just about everything I can think of to fix this, like clean driver installs with DDU, trying different driver versions, tweaking Nvidia Control Panel settings, and even reinstalling Windows multiple times. I've tried playing with the integrated GPU rather than the discrete one, and that seems to prevent crashes, leading me to believe there's some sort of software conflict or issue with the graphics card.
I've monitored temperatures and they're all in the normal range, and even playing while on battery power has minimized crashes for some games. I've attempted downgrading Windows as well and formatted my drive, but I'm still dealing with random crashes across these games. If anyone has any ideas or suggestions on what else I might try, I'd really appreciate the help! Thanks!

Sounds like you've already tried a lot of fixes, but here's a thought: have you checked if your laptop's BIOS is up to date? Sometimes, BIOS updates can improve hardware compatibility and fix issues like this. Also, ensure your RTX 4070's firmware is the latest. Given that the crashes seem linked to the discrete GPU, there might be a compatibility issue that could be resolved.
It looks like you're doing a great job of troubleshooting! Since the crashes stop when using the integrated GPU, I wonder if it's worth looking into power settings. Sometimes, laptops have different power profiles that can affect performance. Have you checked your power plan and made sure it’s set to high performance? Also, consider disabling any overlays or background apps that might be interfering, especially when you're gaming.

Yes, I've confirmed that my BIOS is updated to the latest version and I have the latest firmware for my GPU, so those shouldn't be the issues!
