Help! My Gaming Wifi is Terrible After Router Change

I've built my own PC, and it was working great for a few months until I had a power outage and had to replace my WiFi router (UK - Sky Network). After that, my connection for gaming went downhill, even though everything else like browsing works perfectly fine. My internet shows as 'connected,' but my ping on games like League of Legends shoots up to 800-1000+, making it feel like I'm offline. I've followed all the usual suggestions—flushing DNS, using ethernet cables, etc.—but nothing has helped. The best solution I've found so far is plugging in a WiFi extender right next to my setup, which gives me a decent connection when using an ethernet cable, but moving the extender causes the same issues to return. I'd really appreciate any help! Just to note, my PC specs include an i7 14700k, ARCTIC Liquid Freezer III, MSI B760 GAMING Plus WiFi, 32GB RAM, 2TB storage, and a 4070 TISuper with an 850W PSU.

Consider using a WiFi scanner app. It’s possible your channel is crowded, especially if you live close to others. It might just be conflicting with other signals.

Which apps would you recommend? I saw 'WiFi Analyzer' on the Play Store with great reviews.

In short? It might be time to change routers again. It’s odd, but sometimes new ones can still have issues.

The issue is, I already changed it, and everything else works. I'm really puzzled.

It sounds like your new router might not be performing well. Have you considered running an ethernet cable directly to your PC? That could improve your gaming experience significantly. Also, make sure your drivers are up to date and check the speed on your other devices—are they working fine?

NetSpeedster92 -

Yeah, definitely run a speed test! Use speedtest.net to see where you're at.

I had the providers check everything; the router should be good. Plus, I checked my drivers, and they're all up to date. My internet speed is 270.56 Mbps download and 51.97 Mbps upload without the extender.

Interestingly, this issue is specific to my PC. Other devices are working perfectly fine.
