I opened my HP laptop today and noticed that the wifi option is completely missing. It's been working fine for years without any issues. Now, it tells me I need an Ethernet cable to access the internet. I've tried following several tutorials on YouTube, but nothing seems to fix the problem. Can anyone help me troubleshoot this?

Try checking the device manager. If your wifi adapter shows up, try disabling and then enabling it. If that doesn't help, uninstall it and reboot your laptop. A wired connection will help you reinstall the drivers more effectively.
Have you tried restarting your laptop? Sometimes a simple reboot can do wonders!
Make sure to check the BIOS settings to confirm wifi is enabled. Also, look for any physical switches on your laptop that could turn wifi on or off. Some laptops have a function key combo that can also toggle wifi.
It sounds like your wifi hardware or driver might be disabled or broken. When it says you need an Ethernet cable, it usually means the only network it can find is wired. Check if there's a physical wifi kill switch on your laptop that might have been flipped by accident.
It’s possible that a recent update may have removed your wifi driver. You should be able to find it again once you connect through a wired network, or you could roll back the update if necessary.
