Help! My Husband’s Roadrunner Email Access Was Lost – Is This a Scam?

My husband has lost access to his Roadrunner email account. He tends to delete emails without reading them, especially if they seem unimportant, so it's possible he overlooked an email about potential disconnection. We chatted with support online, and they told us to call 7602845760, which feels suspicious. When the person suggested taking remote control of our computer, I got really uneasy and decided to hang up. Is this a legitimate support line, and is there any chance of recovering his email?

You definitely talked to a scammer! It sounds like you might have found a fraudulent support number through a Google search. Always check the official website for the correct support channels. Legitimate support won’t ask for remote access to your computer, so it's good that you hung up.

I checked and it was the official Spectrum website! What gives?

It's very likely you were not on the real Spectrum website. Scammers use techniques to make their sites seem legitimate, which can trick people into thinking they're getting genuine support. Just be careful to avoid sharing any real contact details publicly. You might consider editing your post to remove part of the phone number you mentioned.

That situation was super scammy. If you tried Googling 'Roadrunner support', many results point to fake sites. Roadrunner accounts are handled through Spectrum now, so it’s essential to visit https://www.spectrum.net/support for help. Follow the contact numbers or chat options there, not the ones you were given.

Exactly! He was chatting with someone on Spectrum's site before they gave him that number. It felt so off!
