I'm having a frustrating issue with my iPad Pro M1. I was on the iPadOS 26.3 Beta and I want to restore it to the regular version. I connected my iPad to my MacBook Pro using the original cable, but when I tried to update it, I got an error saying, "There was a problem downloading the software for the iPad. The requested resource was not found." When I attempted to restore the iPad, it said, "Software for this iPad is not currently available."
I downloaded the IPSW file for the latest iPadOS version, but received an error saying, "The iPad could not be updated. An unknown error occurred (68). 0697.0044." I then tried to enter DFU mode, but ended up with the same error about the software not being available.
I've restarted the iPad, but now it only boots into restore mode and I can't seem to get into DFU either. Is there anything else I can try, or will I need to take it to an Apple store?

It sounds like you’re stuck in a tough spot. I recommend checking for the latest IPSW file specific to your iPad model from a trusted source, as sometimes the official downloads can be tricky. Make sure you also have the latest version of iTunes or Finder on your Mac. If you are still running into issues, you might want to try using a different USB port or cable to eliminate any hardware problems.
Good luck!
Have you tried force restarting the iPad while it's connected to your Mac? Sometimes that can trigger it to escape restore mode. You can do this by pressing and quickly releasing the Volume Up button, then the Volume Down button, and finally, press and hold the Top button until you see the Apple logo again. After that, try restoring again.
I’ve given that a shot already, but it just keeps going back to restore mode. At this point, I might have to think about taking it in for repairs.

I tried that and it still didn’t work for me. Is there any chance that your Mac needs a software update? Sometimes that can affect the restoration process!
