I'm working on a fan replacement and deshrouding project for my GIGABYTE GeForce RTX 2080 (WindForce OC). The current fans are nearly shot after I accidentally overspun them while cleaning. I want to replace them with two Arctic P12 (120mm) fans, but I'm unsure about the cable connections. I've seen suggestions to connect the new fans to a motherboard header and control them with Fan Control, but I'm also considering plugging them directly into the GPU headers so they follow the same fan curve as the originals. What cables or adapters would I need for either option?

You can definitely find decent replacement fans online, but if you’re trying to keep costs low, I recommend using the GPU header for your new fans. To connect the standard 4-pin case fans to the GPU, look for a Gelid CA-PWM-02 adapter; it’s super handy for that setup. This way, your new fans will automatically adjust with the GPU's fan curve, which is a bonus!

Just a heads-up: using the GPU header might draw more power than the stock fans, depending on the specs of your new fans. Make sure they’re rated to handle it!
