I'm having a major issue with my iPhone 13 mini. It was running slowly for a couple of days, and then out of nowhere, it just shut off and entered a reboot loop while I was using it. After charging it for a while, I managed to get it into recovery mode and updated it using my Mac. It turned on but was at 1% battery. When I plugged it in to charge, I noticed it was taking forever to charge and sometimes it would stop charging altogether, even though it indicated it was plugged in. I had to keep unplugging and replugging the charger to get it to start again. When the battery hit around 80%, I unplugged it, and to my surprise, the battery drained way too slowly for the iPhone 13 mini, which usually has a weak battery. At 50%, it turned off again, which made me think there's a calibration issue with the battery not communicating properly with the operating system. It entered the reboot loop again, and while trying to fix it, I got an error (Error 9) on my Mac. I'm in urgent need of help to back up my data!

It sounds like your battery is definitely on the fritz. I wouldn’t worry about calibration or software issues here. All those symptoms like the slow charging and constant shutdowns point towards a battery that can't maintain stable power. Right now, your top priority should be getting a backup of your data. Try to keep your phone plugged in whenever possible, but avoid doing more updates or restores until you’re able to back up your files. If it boots up, grab that backup immediately; if it won’t stay on, you might need to replace the battery first to recover your data.

But what if it only shows the recovery mode screen when it’s plugged in? Should I just let it die completely before taking it to a repair shop?
