Help! My Laptop Screen Freezes After Power Outage

I'm having a serious issue with my laptop after an electrical outage. I was in the middle of installing new graphics drivers when the power went out, causing my laptop to shut down instantly. Now, whenever I turn it back on, the screen works fine for a couple of seconds, but then it freezes. The weird part is that it still responds to my mouse and keyboard inputs. For instance, I can enter my PIN, but then the screen gets stuck on that page. I can even trigger a restart with ctrl+alt+delete, but the screen just remains frozen. I've checked all the connections, and everything seems fine. It's an Asus GL502 ROG Strix. Does anyone have any advice?

If the connections are all good, it could be a driver issue caused by the way the installation got interrupted. You could try booting into safe mode and rolling back to a previous graphics driver version to see if that resolves the freezing. Let us know how that goes!

It sounds like you might have a connection issue or a graphics problem due to the power outage. I suggest checking your display cables inside, just to ensure nothing got shaken loose during the outage. Also, if you can access safe mode, try booting your laptop in that mode because it may help reset the display settings.
