My mom's iPhone 12 mini has been overheating for about a month now. She's visited the Apple Store twice for help. The first visit, they replaced her battery, but despite that, the phone continues to overheat to the point where it won't charge. We even tried a factory reset, but after several days, the issue persists. Today, they basically said that even if they swapped her phone with a new one, it would still overheat and suggested she should just upgrade instead. Is there anything else we can do, or is this a common problem with the iPhone 12 mini?

When you say it’s overheating, do you mean it gets too hot to hold or do you see a warning on the display about heat? If it's out of warranty, it might be more cost-effective just to upgrade instead of paying a hefty replacement fee for such an old model.
I got a warning message on my friend's phone too, so it sounds like yours is definitely running into some serious heat issues!
