Help! My New PC Build Won’t Recognize CPU or RAM

I've recently completed my first PC build, and I'm encountering some serious issues. Here's what I've put together: an AMD Ryzen 5 9600X, MSI PRO B850M-VC motherboard, Silicon Power XPOWER Pulse 32GB DDR5 RAM, and more. Unfortunately, the motherboard isn't recognizing the CPU or the RAM. I reached out to customer support, and they suggested that the RAM might be incompatible with the motherboard. I'm really frustrated because I thought I had checked compatibility through PC Part Picker. Do I need to get a new motherboard or different RAM? Also, my monitor isn't showing any signal at all! Any advice would be greatly appreciated!

The fact that your motherboard isn't recognizing the CPU is quite serious. Double-check all the connections to ensure everything's seated properly. Since your motherboard has a BIOS flash feature, make sure you're ready to update the BIOS once you have it working!

But how do I update the BIOS if my monitor just says 'no signal'?

Don't stress too much! DDR5 RAM is compatible with AM5 motherboards. Just make sure you let the system sit for a bit; sometimes it takes about 15 minutes for memory training to kick in. Could be worth checking if you connected everything properly too. Hang in there!

I waited an hour for the training. Just to clarify, I contacted customer service for the motherboard!

Try these steps: 1) Install just one stick of RAM and swap that stick around in different slots. 2) If it boots after that, update the BIOS from the rear I/O panel. 3) If none of that works, you might want to contact the vendor for a CPU replacement.
