Help! My New PC Is Overheating During Gaming

Hey everyone, I just built a new PC and need some help. When my system is idle, my CPU usage sits around 5% and temperatures are about 40°C. However, things go haywire when I installed Overwatch 2. My CPU usage spikes to 100%, and temperatures hit a staggering 95°C almost immediately, causing my fans to roar. This seems abnormal, right? Do you think the high temperatures are causing the high CPU load, or is it the other way around? I've already installed all the drivers and updated the BIOS. Here's my build:
- CPU: Ryzen 7 9800X3D
- GPU: Palit Gaming Pro v1 RTX 5070Ti
- Motherboard: MSI Mag Tomahawk x670e
- Cooler: Arctic Liquid Freezer III Pro RGB
- RAM: Corsair Vengeance for AMD, DDR5, 6000MHz, 32GB, CL28
- Storage: 4TB SSD, 4TB HDD
- OS: Windows 11
I'm using MSI Center to monitor temps and usage. Any advice would be greatly appreciated!

Most likely, the high temps are due to the high load combined with how AM5 CPUs boost to their thermal limits. Is your AIO pump set to 100%? You should also double-check that it's functioning properly.

I can see the fan speeds, but I’m not sure how to check the pump speed. Any tips?

Is your AIO pump set to a high setting? That could definitely make a difference in cooling.

I have the fans running high, but how can I check the pump speed?

I ran into something like this recently. I even forgot to remove the plastic from the copper plate on my cooler! After I peeled it off and reapplied my thermal paste, my temperature issues cleared up. Since you have the same cooler, it might be worth a check if you're feeling stuck on what to do.
