Help! My New PC Keeps Crashing Randomly

I just built a new PC and I'm experiencing some issues. It's not crashing when I start it up; rather, it's crashing randomly about every six hours, even when I'm not doing anything intensive or sometimes even when I'm not using it at all. The screen freezes, and I can't move the mouse or use the keyboard. The keyboard lights turn off, and then my monitors go black. If I turn off the PC, it seems fine afterward, but if I just wait, it eventually restarts itself after some time. I suspect it might be a hardware issue, but I'm not entirely sure. Here are my specs:
- Intel i7-14600KF
- B760M Gaming X DDR4
- 32GB DDR4 RAM at 3200Hz
- RTX 5070 OC
- 850 MAG PSU

If anyone has suggestions or needs more information, just let me know! Thanks in advance!

Have you checked the Windows crash report in the Event Viewer? If you share that info, someone experienced might help you interpret those logs.

It could also be an issue with your thermal paste application. If there’s too much or too little, it might affect the CPU connection. Have you noticed any overheating?

It hasn't overheated, but I did apply a decent amount of paste. Think that could be causing issues?

It sounds like it could be a GPU issue. I had similar crashes with my graphics card after a while. Just checking, have you updated to the latest drivers and tried stress testing it?

Yeah, I updated the drivers and stress tested the GPU. Everything looks good; the RTX 5070 OC is performing just as it should.

You might want to consider resetting your BIOS to defaults, updating it, disabling XMP/Expo settings, or even reinstalling Windows. Troubleshooting can be a hassle if the issue is hard to replicate. Listing out your parts and their driver versions could help too.

I plan to update the BIOS tomorrow and will perform a fresh Windows install (debloated). I turned off XMP settings already. Let me list my parts as well.

Do you get any blue screen errors, or is it just the display going off? Also, what CPU are you using?

TechieTornado42 -

No blue screen at all—just the screen goes black. I'm using the 14600KF.
