I've recently upgraded my graphics card from an RTX 3080 to a Radeon 9070XT, but I'm running into a major issue. I bought the 9070XT from Best Buy, and my computer just won't recognize it; it's not showing up in either Task Manager or Device Manager. I returned that one and ordered the same card from Amazon, but I'm facing the same problem again.
I've updated the BIOS and installed the necessary drivers, but nothing seems to work. I'm starting to wonder if the problem lies with the PCIe cables. I sold my old card and, in a moment of haste, packed up the PCIe cables with it. I had to buy new ones online, so maybe they're not compatible. I'm really stumped here—any suggestions?

Since you can still access Task Manager, your PC is definitely turning on, which is a good sign. Did you manage to install the right AMD drivers? Make sure to Google and download those if you haven’t already.
You should try booting your PC in safe mode. Hold down the Shift key while selecting Restart, and then navigate to Troubleshoot > Advanced options > Startup Settings > Restart. From there, use a display driver uninstaller to clear out any old drivers—especially Nvidia ones if you had an RTX before. After that, reboot normally and reinstall the AMD drivers. Good luck!
It sounds like the PCIe cables might be the issue. If they’re not specifically matched to your PSU, they could cause problems, including not detecting your GPU properly. You should either get the right cables or consider getting a new power supply that comes with compatible cables.
Just to clarify, are you using PCIe riser cables or just power cables? If they’re power cables, it’s critical they’re model-specific because even cables from the same manufacturer can have varying pinouts. Also, check if the GPU works when booting into the BIOS; if it does, this signals a software issue.
