I downloaded a cracked file and it led to my Instagram, Discord, and now my Steam and Epic Games accounts getting hacked. I thought turning off my PC would stop them, but it looks like they're still able to change my emails and passwords even when my computer is off. I've run Malwarebytes and it says my system is clean. I'm planning to do a clean reinstall of Windows from a USB, but I'm worried they'll just keep hacking me. How can I protect myself?

If the hackers got your passwords before, they're not reliant on your PC anymore. Even if it's off, they can still access your online accounts like Discord and Steam. You need to log into those accounts as soon as you can, change your passwords, and set up 2FA. Start with your email since that's the key to reset all your other accounts.
First thing's first, you need to change your passwords for all your accounts immediately, starting with your email. Enable two-factor authentication (2FA) wherever you can—it might seem annoying, but it really helps. After that, get a clean install of your system done, because if they hacked you, they might have other backdoors.
Also, avoid using cracked files in the future; they often come with these kinds of risks. Keep your accounts secure!
Totally agree! 2FA is a lifesaver in these situations. It adds that extra layer of security, making it so much harder for hackers to regain access.
Accounts are stored online, so unless you change your passwords and secure your email, they can keep accessing them even without your PC being on. Get a good password manager and use distinct passwords for each account. This will make a huge difference in your security moving forward.
Wiping your PC completely is your best bet to stop any residual threats. But remember, if your accounts were compromised, turning off your PC won’t help. Clear out your passwords and enable 2FA to secure your accounts after you've reset everything.
Exactly! Start with your email and make sure you use new passwords that are unique and complex to help prevent future hacks.
