Help! My PC is Running Really Slow After Trying to Overclock

I recently ran a boot camp test and noticed that my CPU performance was underwhelming compared to what I expected. In search of solutions, I came across online advice recommending specific steps to make my CPU run faster. In my eagerness, I followed these steps without fully reading the comments. A lot of people warned against doing what I was about to do, but it was too late. After attempting the changes, I reversed them (or so I thought), but now my PC boots up like it's running the very first version of Internet Explorer. I need help resetting my PC so I can get back to enjoying it!

Here’s a quick fix you can try: 1. Open Notepad. 2. Write "I am stupid" 100 times. 3. Make a USB stick with Windows 11 media and reinstall Windows. Trust me, you'll learn from this!

And hey, it might not be a bad idea to take it slow next time!

You might want to check the BIOS first. Usually, you can access it by tapping the Delete key or F9-F12 during boot. Look for the 'Restore Factory Defaults' option in the Exit menu and restart your PC.

If you were using software to change your settings, try holding Shift while clicking Restart from the Start menu. This will take you to a Recovery menu where you can boot into Safe Mode. Open the software there, restore the default settings, uninstall it, and then restart normally. Good luck!

I work in tech support, and this trick has saved me a few times after BIOS updates. Just a heads up, if you changed your SATA modes or anything during installation (like AHCI or RAID), make sure that’s set correctly after the reset. If you run into an error about no boot drive, just toggle that setting.
