I recently delidded my i7-8700k using a delidding tool and applied liquid metal to the CPU die before reattaching the IHS without any adhesive—just using the CPU bracket to hold it in place. I thought everything went smoothly, but now my PC won't boot. The lights and fans turn on, but there's no POST, no signal to the monitor, and I'm not getting any error code beeps from my motherboard speaker. I've already tried reseating the RAM, the CMOS battery, the CPU, and the cooler, as well as testing with integrated graphics instead of my GPU. I've also experimented with tightening and loosening the CPU cooler. I'm starting to worry that my CPU or motherboard might be damaged. I don't have any spare parts to test either. I was hoping to hold off on an upgrade, but I might have to if my CPU is fried!

If your PC was working fine before the delid and now it isn't, it's possible that the CPU got damaged during the process. Unfortunately, the best you can do might be to replace the CPU if that’s the case. Good luck!
In your delid picture, is that a transistor on the right? It kinda looks like it could be damaged bridges, which might have happened during the delidding process.
