I'm having a problem with my PC. When I try to boot it up, the monitor just shows a black screen and nothing happens. The last thing that occurred before this issue started was a power cut in my area. I don't think the power cut damaged any hardware, though, because I can turn off the PC and the battery, then turn it back on and access the BIOS. From there, I can boot into Windows, but I'd prefer not to go through this process every time. What might be causing the slow boot, and how can I fix it? I just had it sitting on this black screen for about 10 minutes, and it eventually showed the manufacturer logo but no loading screen. I really want my PC to start up in less than 10-15 minutes!

That sounds frustrating! I've had issues where a failing boot drive causes similar problems, just sitting on a black screen. At least yours finally booted, but hopefully, letting it run this time helped the situation!
It sounds like your PC might be doing a disk check after that power cut, so it could be a good idea to give it some time. If it eventually boots up, turn it off and see if it starts normally next time. If not, try unplugging everything, including the power, and hold the power button for about 30 seconds to discharge any static. Then, plug back in just the essential peripherals and see if it boots up fine. If that still doesn't work, you might need to reset the BIOS by using the CMOS jumper or removing the CMOS battery for a few minutes.
I’ll try waiting it out then. I usually interrupt it if it takes too long, so maybe letting it finish this time helped! I'll see if restarting changes anything.
After giving it a try, it still took about 25 minutes to boot. I did the static discharge and tried booting with just the basic peripherals, and thankfully, that worked perfectly! Thanks for the advice!
I had a situation where some USB devices were causing similar problems by not allowing the system to boot properly. Ensure that everything is unplugged and then power it back on; sometimes peripherals can interfere during the boot process. I had a USB hub causing issues before!
Thanks for the tip! I’ll unplug everything and see if that makes a difference.

True, it did boot after a long wait. I’m just restarting now to see if this was a one-time thing.
