Hey folks, I came home from work and tried to turn on my PC, but it just won't post. I've done a lot of troubleshooting, including reseating the GPU, CPU, and RAM. I even unplugged my SSD that has Windows on it to rule it out, but I'm still stuck. One odd thing is that none of my wired peripherals are working at all when plugged into the I/O; they just won't turn on. However, my ethernet port is active, and my wireless keyboard works fine. Another issue is that the power button doesn't turn off the computer; I can turn it on, but to power it off, I have to switch off the whole power supply. There are no lights on the motherboard either, and my monitors don't display anything. If anyone has any ideas on how to fix this, I would really appreciate it!

First things first, try some basic diagnostics. Remove everything except for the CPU, cooler, and fan. Get rid of all drives, RAM, graphics card, and any other unnecessary components. You can power it on by shorting the pins on the front panel header. If your motherboard and PSU are okay, you should at least get an error for missing RAM. Check your motherboard manual for the kind of diagnostics it uses—like a 7-segment display, 4 LEDs, or a PC beeper. If you have a beeper, just make sure it's connected to the right header! Good luck!

Should I take out my M.2 SSDs too? I have an ROG motherboard as well—what color should the LED show after I remove everything?
